LMS publishes 2009 Financial Benchmarking survey

The Law Management Section releases the 2009 Financial Benchmarking Survey on 30 April 2010. Now in its tenth year, the Financial Benchmarking survey has become the annual financial health check of the Law Society’s Law Manage ment Section and represents the most in-depth research of its kind.

187 firms responded to this year’s survey, and areas covered include: fee income, employment costs, net profitability, working capital management and best practice.

Findings of the report are reflective of the underlying difficult economic conditions that have faced law firms over the past 12 months, and mainly reflect the experiences of firms during the period March/April 2008 – March/April 2009. Statistics reflecting lower median profits per partner, and reduction in staff numbers are just two such examples.
